- Users - You still to manager users even on a small website. What if you want to collect user info for a mailing list? All that fuctionality is built-in.
- Text Editor/Image Manager - The core of any CMS is ease of use. Cfwebstore uses FCKedtior, the best online text editor out there. Adding images is also very easy.
- Easy to customize - A lot of CMS systems make it difficult to edit the templates or customize forms on purpose. They're designed for people with no programming experience and don't want to give you easy access to anything you could screw up.
- eCommerce functions - OK, you started out not selling but suddenly decide you want to sell a book or t-shirt. You already have the built-in functionality to sell. You don't have to migrate to a new software.
Free CMS Packages
There are some great free CMS programs out there. Wordpress comes to mind but there's also Coldfusion programs like Mira.com and MangoBlog.org. While Wordpress and MangoBlog are blogs, you can also add other pages. So why not save $400 on a license? First, Cfwebstore still offers a better feature list. Second, it's very easy for even a beginner programmer to modify. And third, with it's eCommerce capability it will always have the ability to be more than a simply CMS.
