Integrate CFWebstore with QuickBooks Online
Online stores are the easiest way to get orders. They're open 24/7, show lots of pictures and copy to convice the customer to buy, the payments get processed automatically and the orders get sent to the drop-shipper for delivery. The last big hurdle in automatting the whole process has been entering the order information into your accounting software.
Now, you can jump that last hurdle with our QuickBooks Integration Service. Nucom Web Hosting has built a secure, web-based integration tool that gives you the ability to upload customers and orders from your CFWebstore to the QuickBooks Online accounting system. This saves you time, increases your efficiency and helps avoid manual entry mistakes. This service and tool also identifies and records errors, and logs them in a results file, which can be used to troubleshoot and rectify any problems and issues that arise.

Why does this only work with QuickBooks Online?
First, Intuit (the makers of QuickBooks) is making the online version its main focus of development going forward. Most software companies are moving to hosted software, which means they'll host the program and you'll simply access it from any web browser - desktop computer or smart phone. QuickBooks is already planning on incorporating its desktop features into the online version, hopefully within a year.
Second, connecting to someone's desktop is problematic. Which OS do you have, which version of QuickBooks, what's your Firewall settings? We could spend half our time just fixing connection problems. Instead, we'd rather spend all our time adding new features and creating a better overall product.
If you do have a QuickBooks Desktop version, you can still import sales data. Several payment gateways, like Authorize.net and QuickBooks Merchant Services, allow you to download sales transactions to your desktop version. Authorize.net is already part of CFWebstore and we're working on a QuickBooks Merchant Services Payment Gateway as an add-on.
Quick explanation on how this service works
This integration service was developed using a well-thought out business logic and a detailed understanding of accounting requirements. It is based on the qbXML file format, which is the form of XML data understood by the QuickBooks Online Web Services API. This web-based and web-hosted solution generates a qbXML file and posts that qbXML file to the client's QuickBooks Online Account. The qbXML file is transferred securely between the two systems utilizing HTTPS (a Secure Sockets Layer protocol).
This is an efficient and economic way to transfer business data securely and swiftly between the two systems. This solution adds an option to the CFWebstore order manager which will create the necessary qbXML import file and submit the file to your QuickBooks Online account.
It is time consuming to continually enter customers, items and orders into QuickBooks Online every day. This solution automates that procedure and eliminates the dreaded double-data entry problem.

QuickBooks is the most popular accounting software for small and medium sized businesses. The online version lets multiple users access your account from any Internet connection - desktop, laptop or smart phone. As a younger product, the online edition is not as full-featured as the desktop versions of QuickBooks, but it does offer a number of advantages to some small businesses. We support and promote QuickBooks Online (QBOE) as the accounting system of choice for our customers for several reasons:
- Online and accessible by multiple users in different locations from anywhere using a browser
- User accounts based with varying access levels
- Market-proven and widely used system
- Low up-front costs. Rather than spending hundreds of dollars for the desktop QuickBooks, the customer pays a modest monthly fee for his QuickBooks Online Edition account.
- Offers integrations with other online services
- Especially attractive to developers is the fact that you can always count on all online edition customers to be running the same version, which greatly simplifies our coding responsibilities.
- Low cost of “ownership.” Intuit handles backing up user data and maintains a secure data center, so users can rest easy knowing their company data is secure.
- Always have the latest and greatest release of QuickBooks Online Edition with no upgrade costs.
